Northeast Colorado RC&D has been authorized for a little more than two years.  Over the past two years they have been busy in creating a niche in order to maximize their efforts.  This niche has been capture in the new Area Plan that has been developed and submitted to Colorado State Conservationist.

 

The mission statement for Northeast Colorado RC&D is “Promote Sustainability in Northeast Colorado”.   Their vision is “Build and coordinate partnerships to promote the conservation and sustainability and growth of our natural and human resources by fostering entrepreneurship in northeast Colorado.”

 

In the plan the RC&D Council has developed three goals that they have been working on.  Under each of the goals Northeast Colorado RC&D has made some significant strides.  These projects will be described under the different goals of :

¨ Foster Community Development and Regionalization in Northeast Colorado.

¨ Over the next five years, increase awareness of alternative enterprise and rural tourism opportunities in northeast Colorado

¨ Work on water issues to help promote sustainability in Northeast Colorado. (Over the next five years increase water sustainability awareness in northeast Colorado).
